Hotel Donati is the oldest in the national park. It was founded in 1931 by Robert Donati, a german with a brazilian heart who anticipated the region's touristic potential.
A man of an intelectual nature, Donati hosted a number of artists and writers, among them Vinícius de  Moraes and Alberto da Veiga Guignard, who left his unmistakable style on several doors and windows of the main house and also in the small chalet where he lived for some time.
